Of all the premier gadgets makers in California, Apple Inc. is one of the most popular electronics and computer software companies in the world.  Apple Inc. is a multinational corporation that has produced well known hardware products including the Macintosh computers, the iPod, and the iPhone.  Some of Apple’s popular software products include the Mac OS X operating system, iTunes, iLife, iWork, and Final Cut Studio.  Apple operates more that 250 retail stores worldwide and a popular online store.

The company was established in 1976 in Cupertino, California, and has long had a unique reputation that includes a very devoted customer base.  Fortune magazine also named Apple the most admired company in the nation in 2008, and the most admired company in the world in 2009.  Some of Apple’s most popular Mac computers are the iMac, Mac mini, and Mac Pro, which are all desktop computers, as well as the MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air which are all of Apple’s portable laptops.  The iPod has also been one of the most popular digital music players on the market since its introduction in 2001.  The iPod works with iTunes, which is Apple’s popular music software manager.  One of the newest additions to the iPod lineup is the iPod Touch, which is an music player similar to that of Apple’s revolutionary iPhone, including just about everything except the phone.  Introduced in 2007, the iPhone has become one of the most popular smartphones on the market, featuring a 3.5 inch touchscreen display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity, and compatibility with Apple’s widely popular App Store, which offers applications for both the iPhone and iPod Touch through the iTunes music store.
